McEwan-ON CHESIL BEACH. La scoperta del sesso, “the secret affair between disgust and joy…”

 

 

Primi anni 60, non quelli della piena rivoluzione sessuale, bensì  la coda degli pruriginosi e bigotti anni 50, quando  le ragazze potevano già fare tante cose, ma erano sole e tormentate nella gestione della propria  sessualità e dei rapporti con l’altro sesso.

Un romanzo d’ansia. Ansie da prima notte di nozze o meglio da prima esperienza sessuale di coppia, di perdita della verginità. Ansie da prestazione, tipicamente maschili; Ansie  tipicamente femminili nella gestione de

“the secret affair between disgust and joy…”

Ian sembra conoscere molto bene le donne, ribatte infatti a chi  glielo fa notare:

” di fatto ho conosciuto molte donne…”

Rileggendo  questa mia reazione  rimango sorpresa. Tranchant e impietosa:

Comprato a Londra, al volo–Luglio 2008. McEwan è irresistibile. E tuttavia, posso osare? Inconsistente! Molto diverso dagli altri che amo intensamente. Sì, l’argomento mi è familiare, forse per questo mi piace meno? I moti dell’anima anche, ma alla fine della fiera…rimane un “romanzetto” Critico un mito! Spero di non aver osato troppo!

Questo video mi risveglia invece molte piacevoli sensazioni provate durante la lettura, a cominciare dal dialogo continuo tra musica ed azioni. E poi è bellissimo, sentire Ian McEwan che legge alcune tra le più intense pagine del suo romanzo.

Andate a scoprire la curiosità tipicamente British  che riguarda le “pietre” di Chesil Beach!
